The Chinese word for 'Tea' which consists of characters of tea, tree, and budding leaves, imply people achieving harmony with the nature, and that harmony with the nature is the wisdom of the tea, which we all strive for.

Living is full of meetings.
Throughout our meetings there is tea.
Tea is part of our life.

The late Myung Won researched and restored the traditional Korea tea ceremonies. These ceremonies known as Royal Court tea ceremony, Temple tea ceremony, Daily life tea ceremony, and Guest Reception tea ceremony were presented for the first time in Korea, by the late Myung Won.

The late Myung Won carries on the traditional tea philosophy and culture to the modern times. Korea's tea philosophy of 'Tea and Zen (Seon) is One' was known to be passed from MajoDoil Grand Buddhist Master to NamjeonBoWon,
Chulkam and Sajasanmoon of DaeHungSa Temple. And then the philsophy was carried on through SeonSan Grand Master, AhAm HaeJung Master to Chou'i, the Korean saint of tea. The honorable Myung Won led the restoration of tea culture and Iljiam temple, the temple where Chou'i resided and practiced the Korean tea ceremonies, and the late Myung Won helped to carriy on the traditional tea philosophy to the modern times.

We need to take effort to preserve and practice the proper Korean traditional tea ceremonies and tea culture. Practicing Korean tea cermeony helps clarify one's thoughts, enhances health, builds discpline and helps us to show respect for one another, all of which represent the core values of our society.
We want this Myung Won homepage to help raise awareness of Korean tea culture and provide opportunities to get to know more about Korean tea and tea culture.
