Mt. jiri holds a unique place in the history of Korean tea
culture. The first official record of tea in Korea refers to Mt.
jiri. The King HungDeok of Shilla Kingdom made a decree to plant
tea seeds in Mt. jiri in AD 828.
The Myung Won Cultural foundation has wild tea garden in the
natural setting of Mt. jiri, the birthplace of Korean tea. One
can enjoy the 'Queen Tea' made from wild and natural tea, only
grown in the high altitude of the Myung Won tea field. The nature
and tea drinking become one at the Myung Won tea garden.
